Offered for sale is a 1987 Chevrolet Monte Carlo powered by a 402ci big-block V8 paired with an automatic transmission and race-style shifter. The shifter allows the car to be left in Drive for normal cruising or shifted manually through the gears when desired.

This Monte Carlo has been built to be driven and enjoyed. The big block features an aggressive camshaft, giving the car the sound and character you would expect from a modified V8-powered G-body.

ENGINE & DRIVETRAIN

* 402ci big-block V8

* Speedometer – functional but reads approximately 10 MPH off

Due to the aggressive camshaft and nature of the big-block setup, the vehicle needs to be warmed up before it will reliably idle on its own.

BRAKES & STEERING

* Front disc brakes
* Manual/non-power brakes
* Brakes stop straight without pulling under normal braking
* Alignment feels good
* Steering wheel sits slightly off-center

The aggressive camshaft does not provide sufficient vacuum for a conventional power-brake setup as currently configured. If a brake booster/power brakes are desired, an appropriate vacuum pump or vacuum reservoir/canister setup would need to be added.

INTERIOR

The interior presents as driver quality and shows normal signs of age and use.

* Carpet shows its age
* Aftermarket tachometer
* Heat and A/C controls remain in the dash
* Heat is not currently hooked up
* A/C is not installed; no A/C components are present other than the interior controls
* Horn pad/horn currently not functional

EXTERIOR

The exterior presents consistently with a driver-quality classic. The paint shows minor chips, scratches, and various imperfections throughout but remains presentable for a car intended to be driven and enjoyed.

This is not being represented as a freshly restored or show-quality Monte Carlo. It is a built, big-block G-body with plenty of character, an aggressive sound, and a setup intended for someone who wants to get out and enjoy their classic.
